Theme: House for a Superstar. Judge: Arata Isozaki. The project noted that, while we feel familiarity with Superstars and their lives, they do not, in reality, exist as we ‘know’ them. They are fabrications of the media, and in this project the home of the Superstar existed only as a magazine article. We all understand such deception, and we all enthusiastically collude in the illusion. A forerunner of ‘virtual architecture’. Awarded first prize.
